R.P. was woken up by an idea at 3 in the morning earlier in week, this
morning we see what a brand new piece that he calls "Son Rise" sounds
like by the light of day.

R.P. Shares some memories of a good friend Clarence Lanka, and an early poem "Dinosaur Egg"

This week River-dale Jake Riley joins R.P. on Homegrown sharing an
autobiographical poem, which means he was working on it in the pickup
while being given a ride home from a cowboy job and memorable
experience.  Jake calls this one "Bomb Cyclone".

This morning R.P. is working his way back from the Cache Valley Music
and Poetry Festival in Logan Utah, and thought he would share one that
he practiced out west "The Ranchers Wife".

In the past month and a half R.P. has attended 4 cowboy poetry
gatherings, and was reminded of the wealth of cowboy poetry passed on by
our predecessors, this morning he shares a Classic poem from Bruce
Kiskaddon "The Broncho Twister's Prayer"

This week R.P. gets a little help with chores before heading to the Lone
Star Cowboy Poetry Gathering in Alpine Texas, his son Caleb joins him on
Homegrown to share a new song that he has titled "Between the Ivory and
the Iron'.

A few rancher thoughts on a cold morning and a hopefully prophetic poem,

R.P. shares a little about his trip to the Fortieth National Cowboy Poetry Gathering in Elko Nevada and blows the dust off of one from quite a few years back that he calls "The Security Slide".
